Ancient Japanese inro were worn from the kimono sash and provided a way for a gentleman to carry things at a time when garments didn’t have pockets. These often ornate objects not only provided one with a place to carry medicines and other small necessities, they also bestowed the wearer with status, style and identity.

Today, polymer clay is the perfect medium for creating these intriguing and magical objects. In this workshop Seth will use the traditional inro form as a starting point to create a modern vessel that can be worn as jewelry or carried as a small handbag.
Seth shares with you all you need to know to start creating your own unique vessle.
