About this class

About this class

Join master metal clay instructor and artist Tracey Spurgin and learn how to create this brilliant metal clay filigree orb.

“The design of this piece was influenced by the architecture of my local area, particularly Beverley Minster which is a large cathedral-like church. Following a fire, the Minster was rebuilt in the year 1220 and remains a dominant building in the quaint market town of Beverley. The ornamental features in and around the building such as bosses, stained glass windows and wrought ironwork, all played a role in contributing to the design of this piece.”

Watch close-up as Tracey shows you step-by-step all the construction techniques you need from rolling your clay and making a sphere to creating a hinge that will allow the orb to open and close. Complete the orb by learning how to add embellishments, a bail and some decorative filigree.

Don’t miss this special presentation and an opportunity to increase your metal clay skill set.
