Talking with Marlene True

Episode #149

Marlene True has a whimsical and original take on creating her eclectic metal jewelry. Each piece has a story and pulls you in with wanting to know more.

“I am interested in jewelry and how it functions as a form of non-verbal communication. I work with used tin cans as a material for fabrication or I select a particular image, color or text from a tin to become the focal point; these vignettes often hint at a story.  Memento Mori jewelry reminds the wearer of his or her own mortality, while a portrait brooch honors a loved one.” ~ Marlene True

  • Your classes are just amazing and I have learned sooo much from Cindy Pope’s classes on the Silhouette machines. She breaks it down so any beginner can learn. I didn’t take my Curio out of the box for a year until I watched her class. Now I’m addicted
