Cupcakes and Metal Clay. Mmmmmm

Cupcakes and Metal Clay. Mmmmmm

Wednesday February 22, 2012

The past summer I spent sometime with Celie Fago and learned about creating with Metal Clay.
What a wonderful way to begin my journey with this material.

Here is Celie’s website, and if you can go to her studio in Vermont, DO!
(2nd best thing, her LIVE class here through CRAFTCAST.com)

Anyway, one of the many things I learned is the importance of keeping your clay fresh and moist, and that leaving it exposed to the elements for any length of time is a bad thing. Celie showed us all how to make a simple “clay humidor” to hold your extra clay while working on your piece.

So here is my version of that tool inspired by Ms. Fago.
It’s a quick little how-to video.
It’s cute and crafty.
What can I tell you.
:)
PS. I found the cupcake holder in 2 different colors at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Great Idea!

I saw this during the "I Love Tools" podcast (during which I won the $100 gift certificate, Thank you very much!). I made six of them for my class. I also showed it as "my favorite tool" during our Metal Clay Guild Meeting this past month. Very convenient.

Clever AND cute!
