H.A.R.D

H.A.R.D

Friday January 20, 2012

Today I’ve been thinking about the word “intentions”.

It was the word that ruled with a powerful tone for the past few years.

It got lots of editorial play from movies like the “The Secret”, and books of the same genre.
I read and loved them all.
It made sense.

We all asked each other what our intentions were.
And we responded.
We thought long and hard about what we were intending.

And then wondered why some of our intentions never materialized.

I’ve learned there is a step that gets over looked sometimes.
The one in between intention and result.

It’s the work. Sometimes it’s referred to as hard work.

Work is one thing, but hard work really stretches you.
(I’ve learned from my new commitment to strength training with weights that I get results stretching myself and doing the hard work.)

I’ve changed the definition of hard.
(This works better for me.)

H  Honor

A  Action

R Remarkable

D Decisions

Honor~ to live up to or fulfill the terms of our commitments to our intentions

Action~ the accomplishment of a thing

Remarkable~ uncommon or extraordinary
Decisions~ a determination arrived at after consideration

My new definition of  H.A.R.D. :
"The act of honoring our commitments to accomplish extraordinary expressions of our unique self."

Off to do some H.A.R.D. work.

xo ;)
