Today I talk with Ms. Arline Fisch.
Ms. Fisch learned to sew and weave from her mother and fell hard for the color red. Growing up in New York, she studied at Skidmore College, receiving her B.S. in Art. Arline Fisch is best known for her crocheted wire works. We talked about her love of “the dramatic” and how it effects her work. Thank you Arline for your generous sharing!
Also, the latest news here in the studio, and upcoming plans here at CRAFTCAST.

Hey Everyone~
I really need your help.
I have been given a chance for a wonderful business opportunity from the company Vertical Response.
They have picked me as a finalist in their “New Deal for Small Business” competition. If I win, I receive $5000 dollars. As I said in the video that got me into the finals, that money will be used to hire a freelance assistant, with the plan to turn it into a full time position. It would be a win for me, as well as creating an employment opportunity for someone else. This is so important to me at this time as I work to make CRAFTCAST the best it can be.
From the beginning I have known that the concept of CRAFTCAST is a good one, and one that is much needed. Over 500,000 of you have listened to my podcast and expressed your deep appreciation. Hundreds of you have taken online classes as well as purchased recordings from the CRAFTCAST site, and have written to me expressing your enthusiasm for making these available.
Now I need your vote.
The process of voting will take a few moments. You have to register your name and email, so thank you up front from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to do a pesky task.
I wish you the best in all your creative endeavors, and thank you for all your support! Click on the link below which will bring you to the page where you can vote or copy and paste this URL into your browser window:

Thank you,

Today I talked with Bruce Pepich, Executive Director and Curator of Collections at the Racine Art Museum.
I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce at the Synergy 2010 conference, where he spoke on a panel with Rachel Carren and Kathleen Dustin, moderated by Jeffery Lloyd Dever. I know you will enjoy Mr. Pepich’s energy and enthusiasm. It’s contagious!
Also, new classes to talk about plus a “killer” book and some music rounds out today’s show.
