Hello to everyone from the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas Nevada!

I’m here at rehearsals for the upcoming Michael Jackson Tribute Show at the Palms Hotel, August 29th at 3PM.
I love watching behind the scenes and seeing the creative forces come together!
Of course, I’m a proud mom as well.
(6W Entertainment is my son’s new production company)
All of the money raised from this event is going to the local school system’s music program, and from what I have heard, it’s going to rebuild the music department from severe program cutting.
Saving the arts one school at a time!!!

I’m revamping the CRAFTCAST site, giving it a fresh new feel to start off the fall. I’m excited about all the online class offerings, plus there is a new theme song, and see if you notice the slight change in the website banner art!  LOL

I’m off to Beadfest this weekend with my friend Susan from Daily Art Muse. We are taking a class taught by Susan Lenart Kazmer, plus I’ll be meeting with a variety of teachers to talk about them offering online classes at CRAFTCAST.

So… I’m excited as everything is coming together.

Taking tomorrow as a hands on play day. A bunch of us will be getting together in the studio to craft, share and snack.

I’ve been fascinated with tube settings for sometime now,
so I was very excited to have my dear friend Liz give me a one-on-one demo!

You can check out Tim McCreight’s book, The Complete Metalsmith, or the quickie graphic tutorial in the 2010 Rio Grande Gem and Findings Catalog (pg. 678) for some how-to information.

This is a slab of stone I cut and polished, and then drilled a hole for a 4mm faceted CZ that I set in sterling silver heavy tubing.
(size of stone is 1″ x 2″ approx.)

I love setting sparkly things into other sparkly things.
