Today I am talking with Angela Cartwright. Ms. Cartwright was a child actor, known for her acting roles in Make Room for Daddy, The Sound of Music and Lost In Space. Today she is known for her art that is a fusion of photography, painting and altered art. Angela says “I like to explore the interplay of nature with man-made objects — creating combinations of shadow and light that compel the viewer to take a closer look”. Her new book, In This House: A Collection of Altered Art Imagery and Collage Techniques, is a collaborative art project that explores innovative altered art and collage techniques by top mixed media artists.
Also listen in as I discuss the 5 stages of creativity, and how to see when you are stuck in one of them!

Rob Sieminski’s work really caught my attention. Blog Pond Pottery looks like organic objects and treasures you might find in a mystical forest.
Rob says, “ We have since moved to Maine where we live and work with our new son Wyatt… Life is good and I still haven’t had a ‘real job’…”
I think making art is the “realest job” you can have!

Check out Kathleen’s site and be inspired. I’ve had only one sad little experiement with polymer clay, so I am in awe by artists that can express themselves with this medium. Kathleen is one of the world’s leading polymer clay artists, as well as an educator, and source of inspiration. Her purses can stand alone on any table as an inspiring piece of art.
